Il Monte Generoso è una montagna alta 1701 metri posta sul confine tra il Ticino e l'Italia.
Sul lato Ovest presenta un aspetto rude e selvaggio con versanti molto esposti, mentre sul lato Est i pendii scendono molto più dolcemente. È proprio da questa parte che è possibile trovare numerosi alpeggi e altri edifici del mondo rurale di una volta.
A quota 1601 metri è presente un albergo, raggiungibile anche con una ferrovia a cremagliera, e un osservatorio astronomico.
Grande importanza ha anche la flora del luogo, con esemplari rari come la Paeonia Officinalis, l'Asphodelus Albus, la Gentiana Asclepiadea e il Dianthus Hissopifolius.
