Comment (Automatic translation in english)
From Cabiói to Capanna Barone the trail is very simple and well done. From Capanna Barone to Capanna Cógnora, the famous Via Alta della Verzasca is followed, and more precisely the 4th stage, the easiest one. Despite this, the high route is not to be taken lightly because it is still a T4. Actually, however, the really T4 steps are not many, but let's go with order. From the Baron hut you follow the path that leads to Lake Barone for a moment and then leave it and continue east following the blue-white signs. Up to 2346 meters, there are no great difficulties, then, near the 2312 meters altitude, there is a slope followed by a descent with a steep section where you have to pay attention. Continuing on we reach, a hundred meters before the 2202 meters altitude, to a slightly insidious passage between the rocks, which however has been facilitated by means of iron handles (see photo 'Via Alta della Verzasca 6'). After passing this passage and having passed the listed point you reach a large landslide detached from the rocks above which last year had closed the section. This year instead you can go, always paying attention to where you put your feet. After this point you go on without any particular difficulty until the Passo di Piatto where you can admire the underlying Laghetto di Chironico. From the pass to the Capanna Cógnora the path is still exposed but presents all the most difficult stretches facilitated by ropes or stairs and is marked in white and red. From the hut there is only an endless descent of 900 meters before reaching Cabiói again. This path, when I walked it, was undergoing complete renovation, with new steps and ropes. The section already completed is that from the altitude of 1400 meters up and I would say that now has become difficult T2. To cover the route of high street between the 2 huts it is necessary to foresee about 4-5 hours. There is a fountain in Cabiói, one in Barone and one in Capanna Cógnora. Then there is the river at Corte di Fondo and some streams before and after. There is also the river that crosses under the Capanna Cógnora. On the high street, between the 2 huts there is no water: provide 5 hours of stocks.
