For this trip we can leave the car to the Motta Mountains where there is ample parking for about twenty cars. From here you can climb to the Alpe di Foppiana along an easy path, well kept but not very signposted. From the alp we then go up to the east until you reach the junction north of the Sassariente. A hundred meters before it, at an altitude of about 1730 meters, you cross a wall that is none other than the famous Muraglia dei Polacchi that follows the entire ridge up to the Cima di Sassello. From the junction, descend for about twenty meters to the south until you reach the first wooden footbridge. Following the latter, the new path leads to the summit. On the left you can see the old path that goes down for about 5 meters and then proceed into the woods. Following this path there are several stretches of rock, facilitated by numerous ropes and numerous iron pegs as well as an initial ladder. Leaving the forest, 5 meters before the summit, you will come across the new path that climbs from the right and rejoins the old one. After the last stretch you reach the summit. For the return you can follow the new path that is held higher than the old and which is also more exposed. On the other hand, however, it is much easier and you could consider its difficulty as T2 if it were not for the last 5 meters stretch that is T3 instead. Returning to the base of Sassari continue descending until you reach 1620 meters and then go up again to the Cima di Sassello. Once reached the altitude of 1800 meters there is a small rocky passage to overcome (T3) and then continue up to the summit. Then go back down to the Alpe di Sassello and continue until you reach the Monti della Gana. After the last stretch on the road you return to the parking lot. As for the water there is a fountain on the Alpe di Sassello, another in the Monti della Gana and a tap on the trail near the Monti di Colla (above the Gana Mountains). There is also a small stream east of the junction dividing the Sassariente from the Cima di Sassello, at an altitude of about 1620 meters. I do not remember anything else. For this reason I recommend to do this tour in the sense I followed, in order to have the water on the return and not on the way.
