Today's ascent to Monte San Salvatore from the classic route from Pazzallo. To get there, I recommend using public transport because the car parks are almost all either private or in the blue zone (maximum 1 hour).
From Pazzallo I start to climb by following the path that passes just below the intermediate station of the Monte San Salvatore funicular. Towards an altitude of 515 metres I reach the junction that leads to the via ferrata, where there is an information sign indicating the access conditions. I continue straight ahead and follow the main path that climbs to the summit, which is always wide and well made throughout the route.
At an altitude of 790 metres, vantage points begin to appear, offering views of Lugano and Lake Lugano. The most spectacular one is just north of the summit, in the San Carlo area, where a ladder has been built on a large block of rock to allow everyone to climb.
Continuing to climb, I soon reach the summit where there is the church of San Salvatore. A little further down, there is also a museum and a restaurant.
For the return journey, we retrace the same path as the outward journey.
There is no water anywhere.
