Today we climbed to the Cima di Fojorina from Cimadera, in Val Colla.
Once you reach the village, start to climb following the road, closed to traffic, that goes up towards Costa del Roccolo. At the crossroads at an altitude of 1329 metres, turn left and continue along the road as far as Cima della Pianca. At this point, the road ends and you continue on the path towards Bocchetta di San Bernardo. From the Bocchetta, climb up along a path that is a little steep at first, to the Passo di Fojorina and from there you will soon reach your destination. A few years ago, a bench was placed on the Cima di Fojorina and a new cross erected, much larger than the previous one (too large in my opinion).
For the return trip, you can descend from the path on the west side to the pass at an altitude of 1714 and from there continue towards Pianca Bella. Once you reach the point at 1645 metres, to shorten the road a little, you can then cut across the easy meadows (where there is also a track) to the Cima della Pianca.
Back on the road, continue to the crossroads at an altitude of 1515 meters where, to vary the trip a little, you can continue on an easy path in the direction of the Capanna Pairolo. Just before reaching it, at the pass at an altitude of 1400 meters, take the road on the right that in a short time descends again to the fork at an altitude of 1329 meters. From that point, following the road taken on the way up, descend again towards Cimadera, but not before taking a look at the splendid chapel at an altitude of 1243 metres.
If you are looking for water, there are three fountains along the road up to Costa del Roccolo and then one more shortly afterwards. After that there is nothing.
