Here we are again with this trip in the beautiful region of Capanna Leit, in my opinion one of the most beautiful in Ticino.
Our itinerary starts from Rodi-Fiesso, near the teleferica of Lago Tremorgio, where there is a large free parking. The ticket for the climb costs 20 Fr. (round trip) and allows us in 5 minutes to reach the Lake Tremorgio and its hut.
Then we continue to the South and we begin to rise firmly towards the Alpe Campolungo. As you go up, in many places you can admire the Tremorgio Lake below us and the Pizzo del Prévat which gradually becomes more and more majestic with its sharp point.
Reached the Alpe Campolungo we enter the most beautiful part of the trip and we cross a plain of meadows and streams surrounded by peaks and white rocks. In this area, in fact, there is the dolomite, a very suggestive calcareous rock, which can be encountered climbing up to Passo Campolungo or Passo Vanit.
For the moment we continue towards Fontane and after passing a bridge we climb up to the Capanna Leit. Just behind the hut there is the Campolungo Pond and the path that leads to the Campo Tencia Hut.
For the return we decide to continue towards the North-East and we reach the Vanit Pass where we can take a look at the Alpe Cadonigo and where we finally meet the Dolomites.
Then go back to the north to Capanna Tremorgio and the cable car that will take us back home.
As for water, there is a fountain at Capanna Tremorgio, one at Capanna Leit and then the river around the Alpe Campolungo.
